
POLICIES 2011-2012
TUITION:
Payment is due by the 1st day of each month. If you pay after the
10th day of the month, a late fee of $10.00 will be added to your next
statement. Students who fall more than two months behind on payments
will not be allowed to take class, until past due money is paid in full.
A $25.00 fee will be assessed to any check that does not clear the bank.
REGISTRATION FEE:
A $30.00 non-refundable registration fee is required per family.
IMPORTANT!!
Refunds - Since tuition is a session fee, you will be billed monthly from
the time the student is enrolled to begin, until the end of session.
(September through May) Tuition is based on a 4-class/month schedule for
nine months with a total of 36 classes (including rehearsal and recital) per
year whether there is 3, 4 or 5 classes per month.
Refunds are not given for prepaid tuition, registration fees,
costumes or recital fees. In the event a student withdraws early,
notification to the studio is required to prevent further billing.
DISCOUNTS:
Full Year: Pay the whole year (Sept-May) in advance and
save 10%. A 10%-20% discount is given on tuition when a family has
more than one student taking lessons or the same student taking multiple
lessons.
INSURANCE:
All students are required to have their own medical insurance coverage, and
if an injury occurs, it is understood that the student and their family are
responsible for any medical costs. All students and/or their parents must
sign this release form in order to participate in classes. You dance at your
own risk.
SNOW AND BAD WEATHER:
The NEOLA STUDIO will close due to bad weather only
when the Tri-Center Community Schools close. The COUNCIL BLUFFS STUDIO
will close due to bad weather only when the Council Bluffs Community Schools
close. If you have question on

BEHAVIOR:
Students are expected to behave in class and mind the teacher at all times.
Teachers will verbally discipline students or the time out method will be
used, if necessary, and if a student becomes disruptive, he or she will be
removed from the class.
CLASS OBSERVATION:
A waiting room is available for parents during regular class times. A
closed circuit TV is available in the waiting room for you to observe all
classes.
FOOD AND DRINK:
Food is not allowed in the dance studio. Students may bring a water
bottle to class to have during their break or shoe change. No other
beverages are allowed. NO GUM ALLOWED
ATTENDANCE:
Perfect attendance awards will be given at the end of the season. Good
attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire
class. STUDENTS WHO MISS MORE THAN 6 CLASSES (without making up the
missed classes) WILL BE UNABLE TO PERFORM IN THE ANNUAL RECITAL, REGARDLESS
OF PURCHASE OF COSTUME OR RECITAL FEE. 2 classes can be made up with a
˝ hour private lesson at private lesson rates.
LEVELS AND MOVING UP:
Students do not move up to the next level according to the amount of years
that they have studied dance. They must be able to execute proper
technique for each movement to the fullest for that level. Once the
teacher or director has determined that the student is ready to move up then
and only then will they be able to do so. Some students may take
several years and others only one, according to natural ability, effort and
practice. POOR ATTENDANCE WILL AFFECT PROGRESSION
FREE LESSONS:
Parents: If your child (ren) takes a total of 3 or more classes
weekly, you may take 1 adult clogging class free.
RECITAL:
End of year Recital will be in May. A recital fee of $45.00 will be
assessed on your April statement to offset costs of the recital.
Recital costumes will be paid in full before you receive your child’s
costume. Registration fee, tuition, recital fee and costumes must be
paid in full before your child will be able to participate in the Recital.
If you wish for your child not to participate in the recital, the studio
must be notified by written notice before costume orders are placed.
SUMMER SESSION:
A summer session will be offered in the areas of tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop,
pom and clogging. Dates and times will be announced in May.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS OF STUDENTS:
By signing this form, you give
full rights to Miss Tammy’s School of Dance, to use photos or video images
of you or your child to use for promotional purposes for the studio. Photos
will not be used for any other purpose.
CLOGGING TEAM:
Miss Tammy’s School of Dance clogging team is for students who are serious
about learning to dance in a professional environment and to perform outside
of the recital. They must have a good attendance record, be enrolled
in ballet, and/or jazz and tap combo class. They must be fully
committed to the extent of putting the clogging team above other outside
activities, be willing to participate in fundraisers or extra commitments
and costs and have full support of their parents or guardian. Parents
are required to attend any meeting scheduled. Students that the
teachers feel are ready for the clogging teams will be invited to
participate.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS:
Dress requirements will be strictly enforced. Required shoes must be
purchased prior to the first day of classes

Ballet:
Females – hair must be securely tied away from face. Leotards
and tights are required. Dance skirts are permitted. (ages 3-7)
Revolution brand pink ballet shoes required. (ages 8 and up)
Revolution brand pink split sole ballet shoes required. Strings must
be doubled knotted and cut short and tucked in shoes. Males –
shorts and t-shirts with black ballet shoes.

Jazz:
Females/males – same as above except shoes. Revolution brand
split sole jazz shoes required.

Tap:
Females/males - same as above except shoes. (ages 4-7)
Revolution brand tan tap shoes (ages 8 & up) Revolution brand tan tap shoes.
Males - tan tap shoes.

Clogging:
Females/males – shorts and t-shirts may be worn. White leather
clogging shoes with Steven Stomper taps.

Acrobatics:
Females/males – same as above except shoes. Revolution brand
white leather rubber sole acrobatic shoes

Hip Hop and Pom:
Females/males – Revolution
brand black Hip Hop Split Sole Sneaker
